we went to the wit's end to see the caution donkeys (a scottish band) last night and relax. it was great. they used to do this thing where they raised their drinks and said 'comradship' and everyone yelled it back and drank. but they found that the word was getting boring so they now asked the audience for a new word every night. manda yelled out 'probaton' and the guitarist said 'what did she say?' so a couple of us yelled back 'PROBATON'. and he's like, 'what's that?!' and manda, ann, and chris yelled back 'greek for sheep' at which pt they said 'no more drinks for that table' and raised their glasses and the whole bar yelled 'PROBATON' and it was just WAY too funny.
they were really good and we had a great time.

on fri morning pi had an itchy eye, but it didn't bother him too much w/ the contact in. when he got here that night he couldn't sleep w/o the contact in 'cause it felt like he had an eyelash attached to the inside of his eyelid.
this morning, since his eye was red and puffy and he obviously shouldn't keep the contact in i made him go to the dr. we went to a walk in clinic and the dr told us he had an infection b/c of the contact and we had to throw out the contact, the solution, all the cases, everything. he also has to be really careful about contacts from now on 'cause if he gets it infected again there can be complications.
so the dr perscibed drops. every 15 min for the first 3 hrs, which was fun. then every hour on the hour for the next 3 days (we're getting really good at putting them in and going on w/ what we were doing), then every 4 hrs for at least 2 weeks.
at this point, he had just one contact that he shouldn't have been wearing anyway and his glasses are in toronto. so we went to just about every optomotrist in london trying to get a pair of glasses so he could drive home....not too many places carry a -6 lense....when we did find a place that had them, but they wouldn't give him the lenses w/o a perscription. the optomotrist wasn't in and was booked into the middle of nov anyway 'cause eye exams aren't covered by ohip as of nov 1 (neither are chiropracters *sigh*). we then spent a fair amount of time looking for an optomotrist that was in and not booked solid on a sat afternoon.
we ended up doing an internet search for his usual eye dr in toronto, called them, and had them fax his perscription to the place that had a -6.5 and -6.75 lense in stock.....so now pi has new glasses and he can't wear contacts for at least a month, probably 2.
i like them :) they're a lot nicer than his other pair

carmina's done
it's been a while since i've had an audience literally jump to their feet.
it was incredible!!!
sold out show
7 curtin calls
something extremely exciting about singing w/ 400 voices, a full orchestra, 2 pianos, a celest, and a percussian section that requires 5 ppl to keep it going :D
the soloists were AMAZING!!!!
esp the sop. she's 8 months pregnant!
anyone w/ a recording listen to the 21st track....there's no way i could do that! i don't have the breath control/the notes, nevermind the fact that she's 8 months pregnant.
for those of you who know terry, she struggles w/ this piece!!!
anyway, i'm on quite the adrenaline high, but i'm trying to calm down, so i'm going to go play a game and go to bed now
nn all (*)

well, this weekend was interesting....congrats to the scoring committee for getting rid of the watch dog. glad you got all that out of your system pi :)
didn't get back in time for the rehersal, hopefully i'll make it tonight so i can still do the show :S
maybe i should just take a cab from class to the hall.
writing an essay when my day finally ends some time near 11. that should be fun.
other than that, there really isn't much going on.
thanksgiving this weekend! classes canceled right left and centre that week, much less stressful :)
LOTS of family stuff to do this weekend. hopefully go out for 'lunch' w/ tanya and have desert w/ the osccsc.....sunday night good for ppl or is that when you're doing 'the dinner'?
tk wants to go to dutch dream/something like that 'cause it's closing down and they have apple pie flavoured ice cream. if not, what time is good for you (keeping in mind that i have too many families at the moment and very little in the way of a life)

plans for this weekend
starting tonight, make a frantic dash from rehersal to the bus station to arrive in toronto at about 11.30 (hopefully)
spend all of sat doing an essay, sitting at home half glad, half annoyed that i'm not at the oscc meeting.
home after a long day sunday.
someone want to switch? it's a really fun historeographical paper on british abolition!
