Convocated and Employed!!!

Well, yesterday was convocation and I'm officially done and have my pretty piece of paper!
I also got offered a job this week!

Interviews

Well, I've just had my first 2 professional interviews. I think I did well on both of them...Guess I'll let you know some time in the middle of next week. Both positions are interviewing until Fri and will then let me know. Cross your fingers!

Philip Pullman!

Last night PI, KL, and I went to see Philip Pullman give a lecture, answer questions, and sign books! If there's anyone out there who hasn't read The Golden Compass, you should. It's fantastic! I didn't get to talk to any of the others, but there were a LOT of very exciting authors and illustrators at the talk. Jean Little, Kit Pearson, Barbara Reid, Kenneth Oppel...and more! I really wish I'd had the money for the rest of the conference so that I could talk to them all, but no such luck...and no time either :( Maybe some of them will be at OLA this year. Oppel was last year.

In retaliation for KL's March of the Librarians Video, I would like everyone, especially those mangoes who are scared of the moving shelves, just how fun moving stacks can be!

We tried to put Pigasus up tonight, but as he screws into the ceiling, this proved a bit awkward. Instead, he has taken up residence on top of my desk w/ a Shakespeare bobble head, a Black Knight plushie, and a stuffed lobster. I think he will be happy in his new home. When we have a ceiling we're allowed to put screws in, he will be able to fly properly :)

Also, I'm having tons of fun at the OLA conference. I'm really sore from yesterday. I was there from 7 - 5 then had class from 6:30-9:00ish. Very stiff today. But I'm off to the conference now, 'cause the expo is so much fun and there are some helpful talks.

I haven't posted in ages 'cause of school work and the FIS blog. That assignment's over now, so I'll just be posting here from now on (that should make the mango gallery happy :P)

Not much has been happening, really, to post about.

I'm volunteering at a conference on Friday. It's technically my first conference as a lib student, so that's exciting. I'll let you know how it goes.

The dreaded group work is done and we got an excellent mark on it. All the presentations are done too. This week I have 2 papers left. Also 2 papers and an e*** next week. Then the term is over and I can start the Christmas baking! Any specific requests?
